Boston Valley Terra Cotta Will Work with Studio Gang on FDNY Rescue Company 2

Studio Gang has developed a design for the FDNY’s Rescue Company 2 building, a new state of the art training facility with the ability to simulate a wide range of emergency conditions. Boston Valley Terra Cotta will be providing red glazed terra cotta panels that will frame the windows and doors, essentially highlighting the access points between the Brooklyn community and the fire company. Studio Gang worked to create a facility that is not only distinct in design but also in the ways it will allow the fire company and the community of Brownsville to interact. The design also serves to improve the quality of everyday life for the fire company members by incorporating open living spaces, open air porches, and a green roof.
