Construction Update: FDNY Rescue Company 2 Training Facility
Construction on the FDNY Rescue Company 2 training facility – a project over two years in the making – is nearing completion in Brooklyn, NY. Designed by Studio Gang architects, the building features a bright red terra cotta facade that was developed and manufactured by Boston Valley. The extruded panels, glazed in a variety of red shades, were sized to frame the architectural details and cutouts of the structure in a geometric arrangement.
The facility will be used as a training space for FDNY 2, allowing them to perform training simulations for various emergency situations.
“Large apertures cut into the concrete facades are accented by glazed terra cotta panels in various shades of red.”
Field Condition has kindly provided an extensive collection of images taken on-location at the completed FDNY facility. Click here to view the full gallery.
