A Tour of Boston Valley Terra Cotta Facades in NYC
Featured Image: 200 Eleventh Avenue, New York, NY — Architect: Selldorf Architects
The architectural landscape of New York City is as diverse as any major metropolitan city; the variety of buildings that use metal, glass, stone, and terra cotta on their facades make up the urban environment New Yorkers know and love. Terra cotta is unique in that through manipulating the form, glaze, and finish it can mimic many materials popular in architecture – including stone, granite, and metal. Boston Valley Terra Cotta has been working alongside architects, building owners, and contractors to manufacture the ancient ceramic media for the 21st-century construction. All around the city you can see the many projects that have already been completed, or the ones that are currently in progress. The following list of buildings are new construction projects, but if you look around the city you may also see terra cotta restorations that Boston Valley is proud to have been a part of.

The scaffolding is coming down at 512 West 22nd street as the terra cotta facade is being installed.
