FDNY Rescue Company 2 Mockups Showcase Vibrant Red Glaze
The FDNY’s Rescue Company 2 three-story structure has topped out and will soon be accented by red glazed terra cotta, manufactured by Boston Valley Terra Cotta. Three vibrant shades of red glaze create a dynamic pattern, framing out the 18 different windows and building openings. The terra cotta pieces are all the same extruded size but each building opening utilizes unique geometry to create the different interlocking surrounds.
Designed by Studio Gang, the 21,000-square-foot facility will serve as a new state of the art training facility with the ability to simulate a wide range of emergency conditions.
Below are images of a full visual mockup of a window surround constructed outside of the Boston Valley Terra Cotta factory.
