Manufacturing of 363 Lafayette’s Grey Glazed Terra Cotta Facade is Underway
363 Lafayette is a 10-Story office building designed by Morris Adjmi Architects in New York City’s NoHo Historic District. In the previous post about this project, renderings provided by the architects showed the brick and terra cotta facade in its projected state of completion. In the original design for 363 Lafayette’s structure was comprised of five, two-story sections each receding from the previous. However, due to the needs of the commissioners, the stylistic choice was revised to include a more simple, classic facade and more room in the building’s interior.
Construction is currently underway at 363 Lafayette; with most of the internal structure completed, Boston Valley Terra Cotta has been manufacturing components for this unique NoHo facade. The building will feature a dark grey terra cotta glaze application with a simple, geometric pattern. The units of the terra cotta frieze were extruded in the factory and the projections were modified in the finishing department.
The construction at 363 Lafayette is expected to be completed in 2018.
