The 585 Kendall project, scheduled for completion in 2026, celebrated a topping-off ceremony with the raising of its final structural beam, adorned with the signatures of construction crew members. Located in Cambridge, MA and developed by BioMed Realty, the building stands 3-tiers and 16-stories. Over 200,000 sq. ft. will be clad in Boston Valley’s extruded terra cotta panels, featuring an array of 7 custom glazes. This project will included a total 11 extrusion dies, along with 14 unique rams for the transition panels, and numerous ram and slip molds for all of the unique top and bottom cap conditions. Installation of these panels (quantity approx. 55,000) will begin soon.

Anchored by biotech firm Takeda, the building will house state-of-the-art R&D facilities, including advanced labs and equipment. Public amenities will include 30,000 square feet of community space featuring a 400-seat theater, a 150-seat stage set in a lobby with a year-round garden, and a commons area. The design emphasizes accessibility and integration with the vibrant Kendall Square area.
