FSU Doak Campbell Stadium Improvements Utilize TerraClad System
Boston Valley’s TerraClad® panel system is nearing installation completion as exterior cladding for two new elevator towers at Florida State University’s Doak Campbell Stadium. The stadium, home to the Seminoles, has been undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and these new towers on the south side of the stadium are only a small part of the improvements being made for the fan experience.
Though only a small part of the overall construction, the TerraClad® system was an integral part of the design of this feature, as the system was able to accommodate for a custom facade design that recalls traditional Seminole Indian patterning. Through the use of the FSU Seminole team colors, custom extrusions, and an entirely customized panel layout and track installation, this unique pattern has been realized utilizing an open joint rain screen system.
Other stadium improvements include replacement of bleachers with padded club seats, changes to the interior club amenities, and increased aisle space to allow for better access to all parts of the stadium. All construction is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2016 footballs season.
