A composite rendering of a section of the Woolworth Building with replacement terra cotta units created by Boston Valley draftsmen shown fit together with those from the site survey scan files.
Quality Control Process Ensures Perfect Fit
The restoration of the Woolworth Building is in production at Boston Valley. The above image is a composite model combining the 3D scans that our site survey team completed while at The Woolworth Building with the rationalized replacement units generated by our drafting department. The even toned gray portion of the image are the replacement units and the colorful portions of the image are the scanned data. The drafting department is utilizing this model to ensure the units that are being replaced will fit perfectly back into the building. This is a digital phase of Quality Control process; this procedure precedes our physical Quality Control checks performed after the piece has been manufactured.
