Construction Continues for 7 West 21 Street

April 7, 2016/in 7 West 21 Street, Blog

Boston Valley Terra Cotta has been working with Morris Adjmi Architects on a new 18-story residential building planned for 7 West 21st Street in New York City’s Flatiron District. The 290,000 square foot building will have 288 apartments, 8,000 square feet of retail space and an underground parking garage.

The full visual mockup for 7 West 21 Street was constructed outside of the Boston Valley Terra Cotta factory in Orchard Park. Facade Technology is supplying attachment components and installation of the large terra cotta units that frame the windows on this facade. With approximately 4000 units that range in size from a single unit width of 16″ to 24″, as well as a 45″ column width composed of several terra cotta units, there was a lot to consider when designing this facade and its attachment.

Look for more on this project as construction continues in the coming months.
