The $1.8 million restoration process of the theater was started in the fall of 2013. Boston Valley Terra Cotta has been working with Quality Masonry Company, Inc. on this restoration. The Marion Palace Theatre is one of 16 atmospheric theaters designed by John Eberson that remain in operation in the United States today.
