Boston Valley is proud to sponsor Tales from New York – Experimental ceramics for architecture at the Building Centre in London, England.
This event brings together international speakers to explore how ceramic innovations, developed during research workshops, are translated into live architectural projects.
Ceramic experts and renowned designers from New York and London will share details of how experimentations in glazing, robotic technology and sustainable manufacturing, which took place in collaborative research projects, has influenced their work. The results have primarily come out of the Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop (ACAW) – an annual event facilitated by Boston Valley Terra Cotta and the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning.
Boston Valley representative, Matt Taberski, will share stories of research and development from a manufacturing perspective. Boston Valley Terra Cotta have partnered with research institutions and universities to facilitate the ACAW workshops which bring together international designers and material experts to explore the use of terra cotta in high-performance facade design.
Studio artist, Andy Brayman, is also among the list of speakers. Andy founded The Matter Factory; a collaborative space that is part artist studio, part laboratory, and part factory. He has been commissioned by Boston Valley to research ceramics and experimental glazing.
