This course will explore the complete production process of architectural terra cotta, from raw material to finished installation. Participants will gain insight into how terra cotta is manufactured, shaped, glazed, and applied in both restoration and new construction contexts. Through detailed discussion of design intent, production techniques, and real-world project case studies, we highlight the versatility, sustainability, and long-term performance of this historic yet innovative material.
Attendees of the course will come away with a deeper understanding of how to specify terra cotta, its role in preserving architectural heritage, and its potential for use in contemporary building design.
