The John and Mable Ringling Ca D’Zan mansion has been awarded two preservation awards by the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. The awards granted to The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art recognize Outstanding Achievement in the category of Restoration/Rehabilitation on the historic mansion’s terra cotta façade, in addition to Outstanding Achievement in the Historic Landscape Restoration category.
Boston Valley Terra Cotta worked with Conservation Solutions, now EverGreen Architectural Arts, and Standard Restoration & Waterproofing Inc to restore damaged architectural features of the Ca D’Zan Mansion. The scope of this project sought to rehabilitate the Belvedere Tower and the Balcony outside of John Ringling’s office. Boston Valley created new masonry to replace broken or missing terra cotta blocks in order to breathe new life back into the once weathered façade.
