The Architectural Ceramic Assemblies Workshop

The ACAWorkshop is the result of Boston Valley Terra Cotta CEO, John Krouse’s desire to create an event that brings together individuals to experiment and learn about architectural terra cotta. ACAW connects local institutions and experts from varied professions for a unique, educational opportunity. Together, Boston Valley, University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning, and Alfred University help facilitate the production of each team’s vision.

The final result of ACAW is a culmination of months of research and preparation; at the weeklong event, prototypes are assembled, tested and presented to the industry peers. The ACAWorkshop gives participants the opportunity to explore innovative building solutions and further their understanding of terra cotta for architectural applications. Increasing an architect’s awareness for Boston Valley’s production capabilities assists the design process for developing future works and expands the possibilities in the creation of unique architectural façades.
