Boston Valley ARCH Design Lab is currently producing the terra cotta roof tiles for Canada’s 100-year old Alberta Legislature Dome. Read more in the Alberta Construction Magazine to find details on the 3-D BIM technology used to recreate the 54-meter high dome.
The Alberta Dome Project continues to hum along. We have produced up to 8 models a day on our new 5-axis CNC router. As soon as the blocks come off the CNC table they are checked for accuracy and have a mold poured around them.
Museum Project prototype models have been created and are having molds cast around them today. They will spend the next few days in the dryer before hand packing and slip casting can commence.
The East Side Townhouse project is collaborative effort between Normal Projects//Michael Chen Architecture & Boston Valley Terra Cotta which began when Michael Chen’s office sent Rhino files to the Design Lab.
